ビックカメラは、約5年前に残業代の未払い問題が表面化してからというもの、社内のコンプライアンスには厳しい取 り決めがあるという。例えば、残業は店舗ごとに上限が設けられ、破られることはないのだとか。一方のヤマダ電機はというと、「全部の店舗がそうではないで しょうが、私が以前働いていた関西の店舗では、ただ働きが横行していましたよ」と語るのは、最近転勤してきたという首都圏店舗で働く店員。

「引き継ぎで不具合があった場合の出勤や、お客様とのトラブルで謝罪に行っても、出勤扱いにされませんでした」（同）

　また、売り上げを達成するために、店員の自腹購入もあるという。ビックカメラをはじめとするほかの量販店店員は「そんなことが明らかになると大問題にな る。聞いたことがない」というが、前出のヤマダ電機の店員は「（自腹購入は）少なくはありません」と答える。

「その日の売り上げに誤算が生じた場合はレジを使った全員で負担します。あとはお客さんとの交渉で、本部が認めない値段を提示してしまった場合も自腹で す」（同）
